This site is located approximately 1.2 km above the confluence of Otamangakau Stream with the Whanganui River at map reference NZMS 260 T19: 367-410.

Genesis Energy are required to manage the level of Lake Otamangakau as follows:

	1 November to 31 March each year, Genesis Energy will maintain the lake level between 610.75 and 611.98 metres above sea level.
	1 April to 31 October each year, Genesis Energy will maintain the lake level between 610.50 and 611.98 metres above sea level.
